Their curious, playful natures are fascinating, and their graceful movements are full of joy. Observing them swimming in the San Francisco Bay inspired me to loosen my approach to painting and respond more intuitively to the natural world.\nIn this workshop we’ll explore foundational watercolor techniques such as wet-into-wet, layering, and more, with an emphasis on using minimal, fluid brushstrokes to paint these streamlined creatures. We’ll focus on letting go of rigid detail, building confidence with our brushes, capturing the energy and grace of dolphins through simple, gestural paintings.\nReference photos will be provided, and you’re also welcome to bring your own imagery for inspiration.\nJoin Zoom 15 minutes early for an informal meet and greet with the instructor and class participants! She earned her MFA in painting at the Burren College of Art in Ireland, and has an interdisciplinary background in visual arts and somatic psychology. Her work explores the intersection of healing, meaning-making, and the natural world.
