Building the Tempo with a solder PCB will require additional tools (a soldering iron) to install switches. However, it enables additional layouts.  The hotswap PCBs don't require any additional tools and allow you to easily swap out switches thanks to Kailh hotswap sockets that are pre-soldered onto the PCB.  Both hotswap and solder PCBs are wired-only.
